June Card Club–Sympathy and Get Well

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!  I hope you are taking some time this weekend to thank those that have fought for our freedom and remember those that lost their lives defending this country.  This weekend is so much more than bright sunny days, grilling food, and spending time with family.  I hope you enjoy every aspect of it. Perhaps these cards can also brighten your day. These are the cards that we will create at my June Card Club on Thursday, June 30 from 6:30-9:30pm . Per requests from my regular attendees, I chose to focus on sympathy and get well cards. This card features a retired stamp set, Kiss It Better , but I really wanted to use it. I love how the band-aids act as closures to the ripped card front. This card is much easier than it looks.  The flower is just circles that have been folded.  I added a stem from our Artiste Cricut collection (which is retiring on July 31 by the way). Having a bad day? This card is sure to brighten it and give you some encouraging wo

June Scrapbook Club Part 2–Florence

Today is Part 2 of my June Scrapbook Club Workshop.   Remember y ou can choose between 2 paper collections to create, Kaleidoscope or Florence .  Or you can create both, by cutting 2 sheets of paper at the same time.   Today, is all about the Florence collection. I used the Florence Workshops Your Way kit and choose to make the pages exactly the Close To My Heart did.  I just added a few more embellishments. The Florence Complements come with 2-6”x6” sticker sheets as well as some kraft pieces.  The new Florence Sequins are beautiful with 4 vibrant colors in the pack. This layout shows off the kraft pieces from the pack of Florence Complements . The title “Genuine” is a sticker from the complements pack too. Here’s another look at the title stickers. The Florence paper collection features one sheet that can be cut into 4”x6” and 3”x4” cards.  You can see one on the right page (the flowery piece). Who wants to come and play? Remember that you will have the choice t

June Scrapbook Club Part 1–Kaleidoscope

This is just Part 1 of my June Scrapbook Club Workshop.   Y ou can choose between 2 paper collections to create, Kaleidoscope or Florence .  Tomorrow I will share all of the details about the Florence collection. Today, is all about Kaleidoscope . I love bright colors so this paper collection was right up my alley. One of my favorite parts was adding watercolors to this collection. The “love this life” title is one of the new Picture My Life Watercolor – Gold cards .  It’s watercolor paper that has a gold pattern printed on it and when watercolored it “resists” the paint. I also splattered the base page with paint by simply loading the paintbrush with paint and water and tapping it against my finger while holding it over the watercolor paper. One of my favorite things about this layout are the gold/watercolored squares on the left page. They were cards from the PML Watercolor – Gold collection that I cut into 2x2 squares and then watercolored. The sticker embellishmen

Happy Times Workshop–3 Layouts and 6 Cards

May is National Scrapbooking Month and Close To My Heart is celebrating with a paper pack and stamp set called Happy Times . With a qualifying purchase of $60, you can get the exclusive Happy Times paper packet for FREE!   This fun paper packet, which is available only during the month of May, features floral designs, gold foil details, and more!  You can also purchase this exclusive paper packet at full retail for $14.95 with no purchase requirement. CTMH also designed a wonderful stamp set to coordinate with it that is also only available in May for $17.95 (plus shipping and tax). Since CTMH is the amazing company that they are, they asked 2 consultants to create workshops for us to use in our business.  So I took the best of each of them and put them together to create this workshop of 3 layouts and 6 cards. Let’s start with the cards.  We will create 2 each of 3 different card designs. These cards were designed by Michelle Snyder. In addition to the Happy T

May Card Club–Pocket Graduation/Father’s Day

Happy month of May where it is pouring down rain right now.  I think the weather got a little confused and is running late this year.  “April showers are supposed to bring May flowers”, not more showers.  Ha Ha! Today I want to share with you my May Card Club that will be held Thursday, May 26 at 6:30pm in Amelia, VA.   (kits are also available) We will make 2 each of 4 different cards (8 total), pocket cards with a focus on graduation and father’s day.  Now if you don’t need graduation or father’s day cards, simply stamp a different sentiment.  It’s that easy. I got the idea for this card on Pinterest.  How cute! Simply include a piece of chocolate (mine is a little too fat), gum, a tea bag, or gift card.  There are lots of masculine examples on Pinterest too. This card was cut using the CTMH Cricut Artiste cartridge .  Simply adhere the center pieces together and the inside will hold a gift card, then just decorate the outside.  Super easy!
