Scrapbook Club in March–Penelope

Spring is on its way!  It may not look like it, but it’s true.  Let’s just hope it gets here sooner rather than later.

So today I am happy to share some spring-like layouts with you that we will make at my March Scrapbook Club using the new Penelope paper collection.

Penelope Pgs 1&2

This first layout was created by CTMH using the new Workshops Your Way Penelope kit

Penelope Close-Ups (1)

This kit comes with the Penelope Complements, which include some great title stickers.

Penelope Close-Ups (2)

You’ll also get the Playful Puffies which are silver puffy stickers, like the butterflies seen in this picture.

Penelope Pgs 3&4

This next layout shows a great way to use the PML (picture my life) sheet that comes in the paper pack.

Penelope Close-Ups (3)

Simply cut the 3”x4” or 4”x6” cards apart and use them as titles or journaling.

Penelope Close-Ups (5)

The complements not only include 2-6”x6” sticker sheets, but also some vellum embellishments.  Isn’t the yellow butterfly cute?

Penelope Close-Ups (4)

I decided to add the Silver & Gold Overlays on top of my photos just to give them some pizzazz.

The Penelope Workshops your Way kit also comes with the new Limeade Washi Pack.

Penelope Close-Ups (7)

This is a great example of the 3 rolls of washi tape that come in this pack.  In the picture above the green striped washi tape has been folded in half so that it creates a plaid pattern.  Pretty cool – huh?

Here’s another picture of the vellum embellishments as well as a PML card being used as a title.

Penelope Pgs 7&8

So I wanted to use up as much of the paper as possible.  So I created this additional layout using my leftovers. (We’ll also make this layout in class.)

Penelope Close-Ups (12)More close-ups.

Penelope Pgs PML

Each new paper pack features one sheet of paper that is 3”x4” and 4”x6” PML (picture my life) cards.  Instead of using these cards in the pocket pages I decided to take the same concept and adhere it to a sheet of 12”x12” cardstock.

Penelope Close-Ups (13)

You can still add embellishments and title pieces to it just like you would a traditional scrapbook page.

Penelope Close-Ups (15)

So were you keeping count?  That’s 5 layouts (or 10-12”x12” pages.

So, would you like to join us in making the 10 pages shown above at my March Scrapbook Club?

June Card Club–Sympathy and Get Well

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!  I hope you are taking some time this weekend to thank those that have fought for our freedom and remember those that lost their lives defending this country.  This weekend is so much more than bright sunny days, grilling food, and spending time with family.  I hope you enjoy every aspect of it. Perhaps these cards can also brighten your day. These are the cards that we will create at my June Card Club on Thursday, June 30 from 6:30-9:30pm . Per requests from my regular attendees, I chose to focus on sympathy and get well cards. This card features a retired stamp set, Kiss It Better , but I really wanted to use it. I love how the band-aids act as closures to the ripped card front. This card is much easier than it looks.  The flower is just circles that have been folded.  I added a stem from our Artiste Cricut collection (which is retiring on July 31 by the way). Having a bad day? This card is sure to brighten it and give you some encouraging wo

June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop–Ice Cream Dream

Yeah!  I am finally getting a chance to participate in another blog hop.  We have 50 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in this month’s Stamp of the Month Blog Hop .    If you lose your place along the way the complete list of participants can be found here.   If you have come here from Kathleen Androlewicz’s Blog you are on the right path. The June Stamp of the Month is entitled Ice Cream Dream (S1506) (Set of 7). Here is a picture of this stamp set. I chose to make a card with this stamp because I thought it would be perfect for a birthday! I chose a pattern from our How-To-Book, Wishes: Simple Side View .  I love the cut-out on the front of the card to reveal a little bit of what is inside. I colored the ice cream truck with some of our ShinHan Markers (Peony Purple, Warm Grey 4, Tender Pink, Turquoise Blue, Golden Yellow, and the Blender for some shading). Then I simply added some of our new washi tape from the Carnival Washi Tape pack (Z3067), s
