September Scrapbook Club–Adventure Fundamentals

In case you have missed it the NEW 2016-2017 Annual Inspirations Idea Book is here and there is so much new product to talk about.  To view the book click here.  To receive your own copy place an order on my website and I’ll mail you one for free or the cost is $6 and I’ll ship it to you.

As I mentioned there is so much new product to talk about, but I am going to focus on the paper that is featured in the new Idea Book.  Specifically the Adventure Fundamentals paper collection, which is the focus of my September Scrapbook Club Workshops.  We will create 8 – 12”x12” pages using this paper, the coordinating Good Life Complements, and Adventure Ribbon Pack.

CTMH Adventure Fundamentals Pgs 1&2

This first layout is one that Close To My Heart designed for us to create at our annual Convention held this past June in Orlando, FL.  It showcases some neat watercolor techniques.

Can you see in this photo that the word beautiful has a “shimmer” to it?  That is probably my most favorite new product, the Shimmer Brush – Clear (Z3293).  Apply it to anything to give it a little bit of shimmer.

CTMH Adventure Fundamentals Pgs 3&4

This next layout was designed and shared as part of a workshop created by fellow consultant, Becky Lehman.

This photo really shows off the Good Life Complements which contain vellum die-cuts with gold foil.

I changed the papers from her original layout because I wanted to use only 1/2 of the paper pack for my workshop.

CTMH Adventure Fundamentals Pgs 5&6

This layout is one of my favorites that Becky Lehman created.  It’s fun and has a lot of interest.

CTMH Adventure Fundamentals Close-Ups (4)

Great use of the pieces in the Good Life Complements to create the embellishments around the title along with an oldie but goodie, Gold Shimmer Trim.

CTMH Adventure Fundamentals Close-Ups (5)

Do you notice the “shimmer” on the words “Day” and “Shine”?  That the Shimmer Brush – Clear (Z3293) again.

CTMH Adventure Fundamentals Pgs 7&8

This layout features some of my favorite colors and the new Color of the Year, Sea Glass.  It really coordinates and complements so much.

CTMH Adventure Fundamentals Close-Ups (6)

On this layout Becky choose to use a lot more of the vellum pieces with the Gold Foil on them.CTMH Adventure Fundamentals Close-Ups (7)

I added more of the ribbon from the Adventure Ribbon Pack, which contains 5 spoils of ribbon in one package that all coordinate with the Adventure Fundamentals.

June Card Club–Sympathy and Get Well

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!  I hope you are taking some time this weekend to thank those that have fought for our freedom and remember those that lost their lives defending this country.  This weekend is so much more than bright sunny days, grilling food, and spending time with family.  I hope you enjoy every aspect of it. Perhaps these cards can also brighten your day. These are the cards that we will create at my June Card Club on Thursday, June 30 from 6:30-9:30pm . Per requests from my regular attendees, I chose to focus on sympathy and get well cards. This card features a retired stamp set, Kiss It Better , but I really wanted to use it. I love how the band-aids act as closures to the ripped card front. This card is much easier than it looks.  The flower is just circles that have been folded.  I added a stem from our Artiste Cricut collection (which is retiring on July 31 by the way). Having a bad day? This card is sure to brighten it and give you some encouraging wo

June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop–Ice Cream Dream

Yeah!  I am finally getting a chance to participate in another blog hop.  We have 50 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in this month’s Stamp of the Month Blog Hop .    If you lose your place along the way the complete list of participants can be found here.   If you have come here from Kathleen Androlewicz’s Blog you are on the right path. The June Stamp of the Month is entitled Ice Cream Dream (S1506) (Set of 7). Here is a picture of this stamp set. I chose to make a card with this stamp because I thought it would be perfect for a birthday! I chose a pattern from our How-To-Book, Wishes: Simple Side View .  I love the cut-out on the front of the card to reveal a little bit of what is inside. I colored the ice cream truck with some of our ShinHan Markers (Peony Purple, Warm Grey 4, Tender Pink, Turquoise Blue, Golden Yellow, and the Blender for some shading). Then I simply added some of our new washi tape from the Carnival Washi Tape pack (Z3067), s
