April Card Club–Monogram Gift Sets

Happy Spring!  Are you in need of a gift set for a friend?  How about some notecards for yourself? Then my April Card Club is for you, Thursday, April 28 at 6:30pm in Amelia, VA. We will make 3 each of 4 different cards (12 total), plus a gift “book” to hold 1 of each card plus envelopes. The gift “book” is created with just 1 sheet of cardstock plus some patterned paper and ribbon.  Each pocket holds 2 cards and envelopes.  So this class would make a great gift set.  Maybe a neat idea for “end of the year” teacher gifts.   Each card features a monogram letter and an embossing folder.  This monogram was stamped and heat embossed with silver embossing powder . This card also uses the Circle Diffuser.   So cool.  Use the diffuser with your favorite embossing folder and there will be an area of the card that is not embossed and perfect to stamp on. In addition to the monogram letter this card also uses the “So Many Smile...

Scrapbook Club in April - Regatta

Hello!  So I know it has been a while since I’ve posted something.  That’s because I was on vacation for a week and last week I had to play catch up.  I was fortunate enough to earn a week’s vacation on the Eastern Caribbean Cruise.  I am so grateful to Close to My Heart for offering opportunities to earn these incentive trips.  My husband & I spent a week aboard the Norwegian Escape.  I hope to share more details with you in another post.  Another benefit to earning the cruise is that CTMH creates a scrapbook for us.  They design the layouts and cut all of our paper then send us the album, page protectors, embellishments, and stamp sets for free.  So as a THANK YOU for helping me earn this trip I thought I would share some of the layouts with you. The “salt in the air…” and starfish stamped images came from the Beach Days stamp set D1684 .  The title is the work of the Handwritten Print stamp set E1030 .  Remember this i...

March Card Club features Regatta and My Anchor

Hello!  I am here today to share my next card class that will be held, Thursday, March 24 at 6:30pm in my studio in Amelia, VA.  If you aren’t local you can order a kit and put the cards together on your own. For this class I chose to use the new Regatta paper collection along with the My Anchor stamp set and thin cuts.   Notice the blue outline around the images of the stamp set ?  That indicates that there is a package of thin cuts that coordinate.  I have been wanting to make one of these side step folding cards for a while.  I think it works great with these stamps.  This card was created by a fellow consultant, Becky Lehman.  I really like the use of the gold foil tape on the 2 strips of paper. This card was created by CTMH and can be made using the Regatta Workshops Your Way kit instructions. I love the use of the wave thin cut on this card. The blue heart of this card is another thin cut.  No fussy cutting here – so ...

Scrapbook Club in March–Penelope

Spring is on its way!  It may not look like it, but it’s true.  Let’s just hope it gets here sooner rather than later. So today I am happy to share some spring-like layouts with you that we will make at my March Scrapbook Club using the new Penelope paper collection . This first layout was created by CTMH using the new Workshops Your Way Penelope kit .  This kit comes with the Penelope Complements , which include some great title stickers. You’ll also get the Playful Puffies which are silver puffy stickers, like the butterflies seen in this picture. This next layout shows a great way to use the PML (picture my life) sheet that comes in the paper pack. Simply cut the 3”x4” or 4”x6” cards apart and use them as titles or journaling. The complements not only include 2-6”x6” sticker sheets, but also some vellum embellishments.  Isn’t the yellow butterfly cute? I decided to add the Silver & Gold Overlays on top of my photos just to give them some p...

Card Club in February features 1/2 of a Penelope Paper Pack

Have you seen the new paper packs yet (Charlotte, Penelope, and Regatta)?  They are slightly different from the previous packs. They now contain 11 different patterns, 1 is a Picture My Life (PML) page of cards that are ready to be cut up.  So there are 12 sheets total, 1 is the PML page, and the others are different patterns front & back.  The pack contains 2 of each sheet of paper. So I decided to challenge myself and see how many cards I could create with 1 of each sheet of paper.  The answer – a whole LOT. So on February 25th we will create 3 of each of the 5 cards pictured above.  That’s 15 using 1/2 of the Penelope Paper Pack (X7207B) . PLUS, 1 of each of these 4 cards using the PML cards from the PML sheet of paper. These cards were so quick to put together with little to no stamping and just a simple embellishment. Now back to the first 5 designs.  This card uses the February Stamp of the Month, Balloon Animals . How cute are they? ...
